Position Summary:
  • Perform and rehearse with guest artists, faculty, studios, and other areas as required by the School of Music;
  • Assign and coordinate collaborative pianists for the accompanying needs of the School of Music;
  • Teach applied lessons to piano majors at both the undergraduate and graduate level;
  • Coach and coordinate the assignments of student collaborative pianists;
  • Teach in the area of collaborative piano and related courses, coach chamber ensembles.


Required Qualifications:

  • DMA in piano performance, collaborative piano or related area or commensurate professional experience ( ABD considered);
  • Outstanding performance background in chamber music settings as well as solo performance;
  • Excellent sight-reading skills;
  • Successful collaborative performance experience at the college or professional level;
  • Ability and willingness to effectively recruit collaborative and solo undergraduate and graduate students;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

About the Department:

The School of Music is located in a state-of-the-art 119,000 square foot facility with a 500-seat concert hall housing a 61-rank Casavant organ, a 100-seat recital hall, MIDI technology labs, recording facilities, music resource center, and 79 practice rooms. The School of Music has 38 full- and part-time faculty and an enrollment of 350 undergraduate and graduate majors and minors.
